On Saturday and Sunday, December 28 and December 29, 2019 Dancing in the Streets Arizona (DITSAZ) will present The Nutcracker ballet with live music provided by the Civic Orchestra of Tucson. This performance will feature, Guest Artists for the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavaliers Guests Artists to be Announced. Both shows will be matinee performances and are scheduled for 2:00pm. Both performances will take place at the Leo Rich Theater 260 S Church Ave, Tucson, Arizona 85701. Tickets, start at $12.50

Be swept away by Tchaikovsky’s iconic score as the Sugar Plum Fairy, our heroine Clara, and a cast of hundreds take you on a magical journey to mystical lands. This full-length traditional production is choreographed and directed by Founders and Artistic Directors Joseph Rodgers and Soleste Lupu.  Dancing toys, mischievous mice, waltzing flowers and sparkling snowflakes dance to Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous score performed by The Civic Orchestra of Tucson. The Nutcracker ballet is based on the classic E.T.A. Hoffmann tale, featuring the magical toymaker Herr Drosselmeyer, Claire, her beloved Nutcracker Prince, twirling Snowflakes, and battling mice. Whether you’re seeing it again, or for the first time, The Nutcracker ballet will capture your imagination and transport you to a magical world of brave toy soldiers and waltzing flowers.
