Come see an adventure into a magical world of princesses, fairies, and bewitching spells as good triumphs over evil. DITSAZ celebrates our tenth anniversary season with this ballet classic, featuring live music by the Civic Orchestra of Tucson. DITSAZ students, community leaders, and guest artists will be performing this ballet classic.

Almost 130 years since it was first staged, the Sleeping Beauty has become one of the world’s most popular ballets. Its origins are unknown, as it was verbally passed down through the millennia and not published until the 17th century. Tchaikovsky’s score is adored almost as much as his Nutcracker ballet music, and the challenging choreography is as demanding as it beautiful. In fact, the Rose Adagio that the princess performs in Act I is considered one of the most difficult adagios in any ballet.

Come see our first production of Sleeping Beauty with live music by Civic Orchestra, original sets. Our students have been working hard rehearsing and are excited to show you their amazing ballet skills!
